A very nice article by Tom Stienstra of the San Fracisco Chronicle on the best of California. A text file with the list is attached in case the link to the article eventually dies.

I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn’t make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.”

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind. And thus is winged Cupid painted blind.

Joshua Tree Pictures

November 25th, 2006, under Miscellaneous

Thanksgiving this year was spent in Joshua Tree with some friends. The trip turned out to be a blast, we spent the most of the time climbing and relaxing and we actually cooked a turkey on the fire. We were treated on the drive home to the entertainment of hearing Kimberly H. get into trouble over having taken Justin’s white nalgene bottle that contained melted snow water from the south pole, which he intended on giving to his family for Christmas. A fun weekend overall. Pictures can be found at the link below.

If you know what it is that you are looking for, then indeed there no need to undertake a search, and if you don’t know what it is that you are looking for then really there’s no basis upon which to conduct a search. Hence the search for truth becomes an idle activity.

-Mino in regards to Socrates’ search for truth. Of course Sacrate’s puts the smack down on Mino’s argument.

We are like puppets, and the Gods can move us any which way they will by pulling on these strings, but we have one string that we can pull back on, and that string is the golden string of reason.

Yosemite Light
Dale and I went up to Yosemite this weekend to try to get some fall pictures. Although it turned out that we were about a week or two early to catch the valley in full fall glory, we still manage to get some fun pictures. All the pictures can be found at the link below.
